The Battle of the San Salvador Catacombs (Creeperian Spanish: Batalla de los'Catacumbas de San Salvador) was a series of unorganized skirmishes which occured between the National Council for Peace and Order and the Catholic Imperial Restoration Council in the Catacombs of San Salvador during the Siege of San Salvador from 1946 to 1949.
Both the Romerists and Miguelists utilized the catacombs as underground bases due to their mysterious and unknown nature. It was not unheard of for Romerist and Miguelist soldiers to encounter each other while tasked with carrying out operations resulting in skirmishes, injuries, and deaths. Due to the shear size of the catacombs, many bodies were never recovered and remain in the labyrinth of the catacombs.
People who venture into the catacombs illegally can still find remains of dead Romerists and Miguelists who were killed in the 330 miles of tunnels during the civil war whose bodies were forgotten about and left behind.
