The Sequoyan Volunteer Regiment (Sequoyan: ᏍᏏᏉᏯ ᎤᏩᏒᎤᏓᏅᏖᏓ ᎤᏔᏂᏗᎦᏙᎯ, transliteration: Ssiquoya Uwasvudanvteda Utanidigadohi; Creeperian: Regimiento Secoyanero de Voluntares, abbreviated SUU or RSV) was a unit of new Sequoyan soldiers sent to Creeperopolis to gain anti-insurgent training and experience during the Deltinian Insurgency. The unit was commanded by Colonel Atohi Dustu.
History
Establishment
On 22 April 2020, Sequoyah became a member of the Cooperation and Development Coalition (CODECO) military and economic alliance. As a part of the negotiations to join, Sequoyah agreed to send a regiment of volunteer soldiers to Creeperopolis to support the Creeperian Armed Forces during the Deltinian Insurgency and to gain anti-insurgent combat experience.[1] The Sequoyan Volunteer Regiment, commanded by Colonel Atohi Dustu, arrived in Nuevo San Juan on 25 April 2020 and began anti-insurgent operations against the Society of Deltinian Brothers (SOHEDEL) on 1 May 2020.
On 28 May 2020, Admiral Diwali Wesa launched a coup d'état against President Cheasequah Waya and announced that Sequoyah would withdraw from CODECO. Wesa ordered the Sequoyan Volunteer Regiment to return to Sequoyah, but Dustu refused to comply with Wesa's order as he supported the deposed Waya. Dustu denounced Wesa's government as illegitimate and stated that he would continue commanding the regiment in Creeperopolis until Waya ordered its return.[2] On 15 June 2020, when Wesa announced that a presidential election would be held later that year, the Sequoyan Volunteer Regiment ceased its combat engagement in Creeperopolis and returned to a garrison in Nuevo San Juan for other forms of training until a new president was inaugurated.
