The Río de Valdéz Incident, also known as the Río de Valdéz Massacre or Battle of Río de Valdéz, occurred on 21 April 1979 in the city of Río de Valdéz along the border of the departments of San Juan and Sonsatepan. Conflicting accounts exist for what occurred during the incident, with the Creeperian government asserting that the Creeperian Army killed 131 armed Deltinian terrorists with affiliations with the Society of Deltinian Brothers, while foreign analysts and local Deltinian leaders claiming that the Creeperian Army massacred 131 unarmed Deltinian civilians.

Historians almost universally agree that the events which transpired are more likely to have been a massacre by the Creeperian Army against Deltinian civilians as a part of the Deltinian Insurgency and the Deportation of the Deltinians, however, such a conclusion is illegal to assert in Creeperopolis, where the government account is given as the true course of events. Some historians have been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on charges of spreading anti-government propaganda for arguing that the Río de Valdéz Incident was a massacre.
