The 1st Infantry Division – Black Division (Creeperian Spanish – Creeperian: 1º Դիվիսիօն Ինֆանտերձա – Դիվիսիօն Նեգրո; Creeperian Spanish – Iberic: 1º División Infantería – División Negro), commonly known as simply as the Black Division (Creeperian Spanish – Creeperian: Դիվիսիօն Նեգրո; Creeperian Spanish – Iberic: División Negro; Creeperian Spanish pronunciation: [di.βiˈsion neˈgro]) is a military unit of the 1st Creeperian Army which is composed of elite soldiers of the entire Creeperian Army. Founded on 24 June 1934, the division has engaged in several battles and operations throughout the Creeperian Conflicts.
The division is composed of 5,325 soldiers, making it the smallest division in the entire Creeperian Army, which usually average around 10,000 soldiers. The soldiers of the division are handpicked by the commander of the division and are approved by the Generals of the thirty-six armies. Soldiers serve for two year periods, after which, they are able to have a meeting with the commander of the division and one General for an extension of service for another two year period, which can be repeated until the age of 40. All former soldiers of the division are given a pension for their service with the unit unless they were dishonorably discharged.
The unit is considered to be one of the most well-known and infamous in history. It has engaged in more battles and operations than any other Creeperian division due to its elite status and it is one of the few active divisions to have engaged in combat in foreign nations, being currently Lyoa and Sequoyah, and being previously mobilized in El Salvador and the State of the Church. The division has a significant reputation of committing war crimes, especially during the Creeperian Civil War and Mara War, which has attracted international attention to the unit's reputation and history.
