Bernardo Óscar Yagüe y Melléndez (Creeperian: Բերնարդո Օսծար Յագշե յ Մեժէնդեզ; born 22 November 1976) is a Creeperian military officer who is the current Captain and the commander of the BIC Adolfo Martínez Hernández aircraft carrier. He has previously held the command of the BIC Suchitoto light cruiser and the BIC Apopa heavy cruiser. He commanded the BIC Apopa during both the Armas Blockade of January 2020 and the Battle of the Glaceis Ocean of March 2020, both a part of the larger 2019–20 Morovan Crisis against Morova.

Early life
Bernardo Óscar Yagüe y Melléndez was born on 22 November 1976 in Panachor, Zapatista, Creeperopolis, one of the most dangerous cities in the country. His father was Óscar Hernán Yagüe y Ramírez and his mother was Guadalupe Bertila Melléndez y Nuñez. He was the youngest child of the family and his older siblings were Óscar Romero Yagüe y Melléndez and Isabela María Yagüe y Melléndez. He enrolled in the San Salvador Imperial Military Academy in 1994 after scoring 991 out of 1,326 on the National University Acceptance Exam (EXACUN), 190 above the 1993 average of 808.
Military career
Yagüe Melléndez graduated from the military academy in 1997 and became an officer on the BIC Suchitoto light cruiser. There, he participated in the Castillianan Insurgency against the Militarist Front for National Liberation (FMLN). He opposed the Treaty of Adolfosburgo and later supported the continuation of the war in 2003 following the 2003 coup d'état.
On 11 February 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and became the commanding officer of the BIC Suchitoto which he had served on since 1997. On 18 March 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Commander and became the commanding officer of the BIC Apopa heavy cruiser. As Commander of the BIC Apopa, he commanded the ship during the Armas Blockade of January 2020 and the Battle of the Glaceis Ocean of March 2020, both a part of the larger 2019–20 Morovan Crisis against Morova.
On 7 April 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Captain and placed in de jure command of the BIC Adolfo Martínez Hernández aircraft carrier, as the carrier had not yet been completed.[1]
Personal life
Yagüe Melléndez married Verónica Cassandra Valdéz y Rodríguez on 28 July 1999 in San Salvador, San Salvador, Creeperopolis. They have two children: Azucena María Yagüe y Valdéz (born 2002) and Fátima María Yagüe y Valdéz (born 2006).
