BIC Atlácatl was a protected cruiser and the first built in the Atlácatl-class. The ship was the first protected cruiser ever constructed. It was ordered December 1879 by the Creeperian Navy during the first years of the Second Senvarian Insurgency. It was laid down in April 1880, launched in June 1882, and completed in July 1883, being commissioned by the Creeperian Navy on 1 August 1883.
