The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Creeperopolis (Creeperian SpanishCreeperian: Մինիստերիո դե Ասփնտոս Ինտերնոս դե Ծրեեպերօպոլիս; Creeperian Spanish – Iberic: Ministerio de Asuntos Internos de Creeperópolis) is a Creeperian government agency which is responsible for the administration of the domestic affairs of Creeperopolis. The ministry is headquartered in San Salvador, San Salvador. The ministry currently employs 60,000 people.

The ministry was established on 15 June 1833 by Emperor Adolfo III following the Revolution of 1833. It superseded the Institution of Internal Affairs and the first Minister of Internal Affairs was Field Marshal Frederico Estrada Cabrera. During the Adolfisto, the ministry was dominated by the military. The ministry was reformed and transitioned to civilian administration during the Second Parliamentary Era, however, it soon returned to military domination during and following the Creeperian Civil War. It again returned to civilian administration during the Alfonsisto. Although it briefly returned to military control following the 2003 Creeperian coup d'état, it has since been again administered by civilians during the reign of Alexander II.

Abbreviated MIASIN, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is considered the second most important administrative ministry of Creeperopolis, following the Ministry of Defense. As such, in listings of the Ministries of Creeperopolis, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is always listed second, after the Ministry of Defense and before the Ministry of External Affairs, which is considered to be its sister ministry.

The ministry is considered to be one of the more controversial ministries due to its immense influence over domestic Creeperian politics and due to its consistent cooperation with the Ministry of Defense in covering up evidence of human rights violations. It has been often labeled as one of the most corrupt government bodies in Creeperopolis. Despite its negative reputation, it is considered to effectively manage the internal subdivisions of Creeperopolis. One of the most notable responsibilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is managing the list of Creeperopolis National Historical Landmarks, as list of locations of cultural or natural significance in Creeperopolis.

Responsibilities

Constitutional mandates

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is de facto defined in the Constitution of Creeperopolis. The ministry itself is not legally defined, but the position of Minister of Internal Affairs, the ministry's head administrator, is:

"The Emperor of Creeperopolis and the Creeperans shall be accompanied and advised by nine government ministers: the Minister of Defense, Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of External Affairs, Minister of Law Enforcement, Minister of Intelligence, Minister of the Treasury, Minister of Labor, Minister of Education, and Minister of Transportation. The duties of each minister shall be decided on by the Emperor of Creeperopolis and the Creeperans."

— Article XXXI of the Constitution of Creeperopolis

The Ministry/Minister of Internal Affairs is mandated two responsibilities by the Constitution of Creeperopolis:

  • Approving or denying the formation of new political parties.

The Nationalist Creeperian Catholic Royal Initiative and the Pro-Fatherland Front of Unification, Franciscan Patriots, Liberal Party, and Social Democrats shall be the only legal political parties within Creeperopolis. New political parties may be formed with approval of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Emperor of Creeperopolis and the Creeperans and this article of the Constitution shall be amended as needed.

— Article XIX of the Constitution of Creeperopolis
  • Granting citizenship to individuals who attain naturalization status due to "noteworthy services rendered to the Empire."

The following may obtain Creeperian citizenship status by naturalization: 1.) Native Salvadorans, Atlántidans, Castillianans, Senvarians, or subjects of the State of the Church with one years' residence in the Empire, 2.) Foreigners of any origin with five years' residence in the Empire, 3.) Those who obtain this status from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for noteworthy services rendered to the Empire, 4.) A foreign man married to a Creeperian woman or a foreign woman married to a Creeperian man with two years' residence in the Empire, prior to or after the time of marriage. Nationality by naturalization shall be granted by competent authorities in conformity with the law.

— Article XLVI of the Constitution of Creeperopolis
