Pope Vigilio I (500 – 7 June 555), also rendered as Pope Vigilius I and born as Vigilius Flavius Labienus, was the Pope from 537 until his death in 555. He was deposed in 540 by the Northern Romanyan emperor over political disputes and exiled in Creeperopolis. He was expected to be killed by the Creeperans, but instead, they converted to Christianity. Vigilio I was succeeded by Pelayo as Pope.
