The history of Rawa Principality goes back to 1228 AD. The city of Rawa was then first mentioned in historical sources. For many centuries it was a royal city in the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland. It was also a city of great importance to the kingdom, and its Starosta performed the most important functions in the nobility.
