The city of Gardena is the capital of the Republic of Paleocacher. It is also the largest city in the country with a population of 18 million people and a size of over 1,400 square miles. It is located on the west coast of the country and was founded in the year 1430. The city of Gardena has submitted a bid for the 2020 Olympics. Gardena was founded in the 1400s but the capital wasn't moved to the city until the latter half of the 19th century due to a serious drought in the country's heartland that caused the city of Bullmar to shrink in size and be regularly short of water and food. The city's Government Center is home to most of Paleocacher's main government bodies including the National Assembly Complex, the Presidential Residence, the Supreme Court and the headquarters of most of the various government departments. The cityscape varies from densely packed skyscrapers to lightly populated suburbs. The city is a major seaport and manufacturing center and the Gardena International Airport is the west coast's main international travel hub.
