Congressional Election

The 2024 New Illyrian congressional election commenced on March 4, 2024, in accordance with the Pretoria Peace Accords and was overseen by agents of the New Illyrian Political Freedom Assurance Committee (NIPFAC). After a month of polling across all of the various states, official results were released on April 1, with the Vanguardist Party (AP) winning 104 seats, the Democratic Party (DP) winning 84, and 7 independent seats.[1] Following the release of the statistics, NIPFAC began a full investigation, soon determining that the "Vanguardist Party (AP) has blatantly engaged in election manipulation and voter suppression,"[2] drawing particular attention to Ferunicum SS, Italia Orientalis SS, The Eisley SS, Uralis SS, and Zapolonia SS which all recorded voter turnout percentages of less than 25%.

Vanguardist leadership and Grand Marshall Ernesto Luçeo stayed silent, issuing no official response statement to the NIPFAC report or the later released ACES statement threatening to withdraw from the Pretoria Peace Accords and possibly a military intervention.[3] Abersianian Prime Minister David Schaunesten announced that Abersiania officially withdrew from the Pretoria Peace Accords and instituted an official trade embargo against New Illyricum shortly on April 17.[4]
