The Illyrian War of Succession (Illyrian Iberic: Geuro de Suceseo de Elyreco) was a military conflict from 1555 to 1561 between Illyrian Catholic nobles, led by Queen Julia II and the anti–religious nobles led by Severus Adrianus. Julia II would ally with the Kingdom of Ferunia and Trurnia forcing Severus Adrianus to ally with Pavulturilor, eventually leading to the major Battle of Hadrianicum in 1560. The Julians were defeated at Hadrianicum, and in December 1561 following the Siege of Tudino, Julia II officially surrendered and later abdicated. Severus Adrianus was crowned Severus I and soon after married Julia II to solidify his claim to the throne.
