In the election, former [[President of El Salvador|President]] [[Adán Tamayo Navarro]] was declared to have been the winner. He was sworn in on 1 January 2020. The 2019 Salvadoran presidential election was held on 4 August 2019. Orlando Pareja Palau of the Salvadoran Initiative was elected as the country's president. He was the first Creepero-Salvadoran to be elected as president of El Salvador.
