The Monsilvan Republic and the United Socialist States of New Illyricum had maintained diplomatic relations since 1978. After the OU military intervention in Akvatika and the New Illyrian government's denial of the Akvatika Island genocide, relations were suspended from August 2023 until July 2024. After the New Illyrian government formally recognized the genocide in July, the Monsilvan government re-admitted an ambassador to represent the country in New Illyricum.
