History
Establishment 1905–1928
Established in 1905, the football team was originally viewed as a vanity project of wealthy businessman Rikardo Sterling. The team's first appearances were promotions of his company's pharmaceuticals, some of which were handed out as free samples at home games. With an increasing feelings of Rakeoian independence in the 1910s, the team was rebranded as 'the national football team' despite not having governmental approval. This landed them in legal troubles that were drawn out for the next three years- But by 1913, the team was acquitted, and the stunt had gained them island-wide attention. As time went on, Sterling continued to disassociate the team from his other businesses.
By 1918, Sterling was facing intense scrutiny after allegations of peddling illicit substances. His reputation in shambles and facing possible legal action, he surrendered the football team as governmental property. Ownership of the team was given as a privilege for whomever became first prime minister of the Second Republic of Rakeo, under the understanding that it would be deputy chairman of the Committee for the Future of Rakeo, Chale Ains.
Chale Ains created the Ains Football Limited as the official governing football organization, moving the originally governmental asset into his family's assets in 1919. The resulting scandal drove the Ainses out of mainstream politics. However, the company was permitted to continue because of an agreement Ains had reached with the to-be prime minister.
Terraconserva Cup years 1928–1956
Departure 1956–1975
The football team made the 1952 cup while the 1951 Ardent Peace Agreement was still in effect. When the peace ended, the team disbanded and attempt to get asylum in [country where the 1952 Terraconserva cup happened]. As the civil war in Rakeo drew to a close in 1955, the question of whether the new Stratocratic Republic would send a team to the 1956 Cup was quickly answered by official dismantling of Ains Football Limited.
In 1970, members of the Stratocratic Authority began a project to gather a new team for a planned national sports revival as part of the next ten year plan. But political rivalries made it impossible until 1973. The construction of a new stadium was declared in August of 1974.

Nicknames
The Scythes (Rakeoian: La Falĉiloj, Creeperian: Las Guadañas) was a nickname given to the Rakeo national football team because the original team was comprised largely of agricultural workers off of the harvest season.
Style of play
Kits
WIP! The first kit of the Rakeo national team were uniforms that had been acquired by one of Rikardo Sterling's business associates following the bankruptcy of Petra's local football team. The kit remained in use until 1944, when a no-bid contract was awarded to XXXX for future kit production. Following the 1974-1975 revival of the team, and the falling out of favor of the red/white color scheme, the new manager, XXXX decided on a white/blue color scheme, saying that it reminded him of the river in winter.
