2026 Gjorkan presidential election

← 2021 June 30, 2026 2031 →

Incumbent President

Carter Morris
Gjorka United

A presidential election will be held in Gjorka to elect the country's president and vice president on June 30, 2026. Incumbent President Carter Morris is eligible for a second term as president. Candidates are eligible to announce their candidacy for president on January 1, 2026 with most major parties nominating their candidates (often with primaries) in early to mid March. The election season concludes with the election on June 30.

Morris won the 2021 election with the lowest percentage of the vote ever for a Gjorkan presidential election and has continuously maintained low approval ratings throughout her presidency, leading her position as president to be considered vulnerable. However, Morris is expected to defend her presidency and be Gjorka United's nominee. Gjorka United's primary rival Forward Gjorka lost the presidency for the first time in a decade after the 2021 election, and is expected to have numerous candidates run for the nomination. Similarly, the Green Party which secured an unprecedentedly high 13 percent of the vote in 2021 is also expected to have a sizable field of candidates. Lastly the two other parties to garner above 5 percent of the vote in 2021, the National Social Party and the Pirate Party are both expected to nominate their party leaders Andrew Tabor and Seban Alloy as they have done previously.

Electoral system

The constitution of Gjorka states that the president of Gjorka is to be elected to a five-year term in a popular vote election. Which ever electoral candidate garners the most votes in the election shall be the next president. By law, the election is to be held every five years on June 30 to give due process for a transition of power between administrations. Additionally, presidents are allowed a maximum of two five-year terms; as such, incumbent president Carter Morris is eligible to run for re-election.
