Alternative for Monsilva (Monsilvan: 山国的替代方案; pinyin: Shānguó de Tìdài Fāng'àn), is a far-right social conservative and fascist party in Monsilva. It is well known for its anti-immigration views, OUscepticism, opposing views on ACES and its favorable views on CODECO. Legally, the party declares itself to be of the radical right, the subset of the far-right that does not oppose democracy, however members of the party have frequently expressed disdain for Monsilva's democratic system. AfM is a member of the Imperial Alliance, a political alliance of right-wing parties which have a goal of forming a coalition to defeat the current dominant parties in Monsilva. Another, although unofficial, goal of the coalition is to restore the monarchy.
The party is widely considered one of Monsilva's most controversial parties, particularly along side Revive Monsilva. Members of AfM have shown support for the military regime of Shao Yaoting, including some members denying the 1978 Jingtianmen Square protests and massacre. These views have lead to many politicians and activists claiming that the party is a threat to Monsilva's democracy and should be banned. However, these claims are frequently countered, including by non-members of the AfM, by the argument that banning a party in a liberal democracy is ironic and hypocritical. A member of the party described its ideology as "Romerism with Monsilvan characteristics" in a 2016 interview.
The party's only seat in a state legislature is in the Leibo State Parliament. It gained this seat in 2019 and retained it in the 2023 Leibo state election. The party won its first legislative seats in the 2023 federal election, which took place after the Legislative Reform Act 2023 and the Electoral Reform Act 2023, winning 1 of the 454 seats in the Legislative Assembly.
