The 2024 Monsilvan federal election was held on Saturday 24 February 2024 to elect new members to the existing 43rd Parliament of Monsilva. This election saw the election of only 56 of the total 510 members of the Legislative Assembly, and 10 of the total 85 members of the Senate. This election was held due to the admittance of Shaoyu as Monsilva's 15th state and was only intended to elect members in the newly created Shaoyunese seats. Unlike most federal elections, the 2024 election was not called after a dissolution of parliament and was instead called as part of the Shaoyu Accession Act 2024.

The election saw the overwhelming success of the Shaoyu Liberation Party and the Democratic Coalition which managed to win 37 (66%) of the total seats up for election in the Legislative Assembly and 5 (50%) of the total seats up for election in the Senate. It was followed by the Conservative Party of Shaoyu and the Progressive Party of Shaoyu which are associated with the Monsilvan parties: Reformed National Party and Liberal Party respectively.

Electoral system

Members of the Legislative Assembly are elected by instant-runoff voting. Each legislative constituency elects one member to the assembly. At the same time, electors also vote for a representative in the senate using closed list proportional representation, with each state having between 2 and 17 senators designated to them.

Candidates

Candidates for either house must have been formally nominated with the Electoral Commission. The nomination for a party-endorsed candidate must be signed by the Registered Officer of a party registered under the Electoral Act; 100 signatures of eligible voters are required for an independent candidate. A candidate can nominate for only one electorate, and must pass a number of qualifications. A deposit of ¥8,200 was required for a candidate for the Legislative Assembly or the Senate, which is refunded if the candidate is elected or gains at least 4% of the first preference vote. Between 10 and 27 days must be allowed after the issue of writs before the close of nominations.

Note that the following table only shows stastics for Shaoyunese seats, and does not consider the already elected seats in the rest of Monsilva.
