A number of polities have declared independence and sought diplomatic recognition from the international community as sovereign states, but have not been universally recognised as such. These entities often have de facto control of their territory.

Free Republic of Noundures	10 July 1933	The Noundurian Liberation Front declared independence for the territory held by Salisford in the Noundures Desert with the intention of being annexed to El Salvador. Republic of Ferunia	21 July 2006	The Free Ferunian Army declared the independence for SE Ferunicum leading to the First Ferunian Separatist War and later Second Ferunian Separatist War. Emirate of Deltino	6 October 1978	The Society of Deltinian Brothers and Holy Army of al-Mutasim declared independence for the department of San Juan as an Islamic emirate seeking to end Creeperian rule over the Deltinian people.
