The Second Ferunian Separatist War, also known as the 2013 Ferunian Regional Insurgency, was a military conflict in Ferunicum between the separatist breakaway Republic of Ferunia and New Illyricum from 2013 to 2019. The war began in May 2013 when Marco Chaka, leader of the Free Ferunian Army (LAF), launched a large scale missile attack on Ferunia, escalating heavily the low intensity violence which had covered the region since the end of the First Ferunian Separatist War in 2008. Major military actions continued in the region until 2015 when recently elected Grand Marshall of the Union Ernesto Luçeo announced Operation Lynx, a 300,000 man strong operation to fully clear Ferunicum of separatist forces. New Illyrian forces killed Marco Chaka at the Battle of the Three Streams in December 2017, effectively ending most of the organized fighting in the region.
