The Maroto Botín MB-8 was planned to be a Creeperian four-engine piston aircraft built by the Maroto Botín Aerospace Corporation. The project was canceled in favor of building a jet airliner which later became the Maroto Botín MB-8.
History
In the mid-1950s, the Maroto Botín Aerospace Corporation was planning the successor of the Maroto Botín MB-7. The project was named the Maroto Botín MB-8 and was planned to be a similar design to the Maroto Botín MB-7, a four-engine piston aircraft but with an increased passenger capacity.
Before the project produced any prototypes, Creeperian Airlines, the national airline of Creeperopolis, requested that Maroto Botín produce a jet-powered aircraft to succeed the MB-7. After the request from the airline was made public, Maroto Botín canceled the MB-8 piston airliner project in favor of a jet airliner, which ultimately became the Maroto Botín MB-8. Very little is known about the initial piston powered MB-8 aircraft.
