The Maroto Botín MB-5, initially known as the Maroto MA-5, was a Creeperian twin-engine piston aircraft built by the Maroto Botín Aerospace Corporation.

History

The Maroto MA-5 was developed by the Maroto Aircraft Company beginning in 1948 to serve as a shorter-range alternative to the Maroto MA-4 troop transport aircraft. In December 1949, Maroto Aircraft merged with the Botín Aircraft Corporation to form the Maroto Botín Aerospace Corporation, and the Maroto MA-5 was renamed to the Maroto Botín MB-5.

The MB-5 first flew in 1950 but was ultimately rejected by the Creeperian Air Force. Maroto Botín sought to sell the aircraft to National Imperial Airways, the national airline of Creeperopolis, but the airline did not believe it could effectively utilize the aircraft and instead requested the manufacturing of a larger aircraft which later became the Maroto Botín MB-6. The lone MB-5 prototype was scrapped in 1952.
