The Romanyan conquest of Illyricum (Romanyan Iberic: Bellum Romania de Illyrica) was a war between the Romanyan Republic, led by Consul Gaius Sejanus Brutellus, and the Second Libillic Coalition, led by Arenegix, from 198 to 197 BC. Romanyan forces defeated the Illyrians in both of the two major battles of the campaign, at Arens, and finally at Marantus River, despite being heavily outnumbered in each. The conquest kickstarted the Romanyan Expansion, which soon led to the formation of the Romanyan Empire which stretched throughout much of Ecros and all of northern Sur.
