Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Maurtanius (born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus; December 15, 37 – June 9, 68 AD) was a Romanyan emperor and the final emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, reigning from 54 AD until his death in 68 AD. Nero was the adopted son of Claudius, Romanyan emperor from 41 to 54 AD, and came to power following his death. As emperor, Nero was widely considered to be a tyrant and was criticized for his actions in the Great Fire of Romanya and later his construction of the Domus Aurea.
