Marcus II (697 - July 15, 756) was the king of Illyricum from 751 to 756. Marcus became king after the execution of Dionysyos I and the first ever royal election overseen by Patriarch of Illyricum Marcus Chlorus. As king, Marcus established the Augustine dynasty which would last until 1179 and created the Imperial Council to serve as an advisory system to the monarch.
