Lucius I, called the Pious, (647 - February 23, 696), was the king of Illyricum from 689 to 696. Lucius became king after being chosen as successor to Julius I by Patriarch Johannus Gregorianus. As king, Lucius helped reestablish stable rule over the Kingdom of Illyricum and established the Tiberian–Hypatian dynasty which would last until 716.
