The Battle of Ferunia, also known as the 2024 Ferunian coup d'état, was a military engagement between the self-declared Republic of Ferunia and New Illyricum fought from July 13 to August 12, 2024 in Ferunia, SE Ferunicum. On the night of July 13, members of the Free Ferunian Army (LAF) led by Janoa Vileo and President of Ferunia Julio Andreo attacked Ferunia following mounting violence in the region for over six months. The local defense, led by Hypereo Guilome, was unprepared for a major assault and the LAF quickly overran most of the city within the first two days of fighting. While several pockets of resistance held out for about a month, most New Illyrian forces were quickly dispersed, with Ferunian troops moving northward to secure the Otorua C1A.
