- The name "Gjorka" derives from the Old Gjorkan words of 'Gior' and 'Jor'. The two words come from medieval kingdoms of Gior, and Jor. The two kingdoms united in 640 A.D creating the Kingdom of Gahorca (commonly referred to as the First Kingdom of Gjorka). The name slowly changed over time with the arrival of Old Eusazy, and eventual evolution into the modern spelling in Gjorkan of Gjorka.
