Legislative elections were held in Sequoyah on 25 February 2024 where Sequoyans elected all 125 members of the People's Assembly. The elections occurred concurrently with gubernatorial elections.

The Sequoyan Electoral Commission allowed fourteen political parties and several independent candidates to participate in the election. Opinion polling conducted prior to the election indicated that the ruling ruling government coalition led by the National Reconstruction Party would maintain its majority in the People's Assembly, however, a minority of polling indicated that the opposition led by the Republican Party would win a majority.

Following the 2022 People's Assembly election, multiple constituencies in Eastern Sequoyah ceased to exist or were reduced in size to some capacity due to the Creeperian annexation of the Navidad and San Juan Diego districts. In 2023, new constituency boundaries were established by the People's Assembly, however, the political opposition accused the government of gerrymandering the districts in order to benefit the ruling parties.

Background

Redistricting in Eastern Sequoyah

In October 2022, referendums were held in northern Sequoyah on wether to accept or reject annexation to Creeperopolis as a part of the conclusion of the CODECO military intervention in Sequoyah. Two of Sequoyah's districts, Navidad and San Juan Diego, voted in favor of annexation due to the districts' large Creeperian population. In December 2022, the annexation was ratified, resulting in several constituencies of the People's Assembly either losing territory or ceasing to exist entirely.

On 8 December 2022, the ruling government coalition—consisting of the National Reconstruction Party, the Federalist Party, the Creeperian League, and the Liberal Democrats for Progress and Change—passed a bill called the Provision for the Northern Constituencies in the People's Assembly to allow the representatives from affected constituencies to retain office for the remainder of the 2022–2024 People's Assembly session; the Senate approved the bill on 20 December and it was signed into law by President Atohi Dustu that same day. The political opposition—consisting of the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, the Socialist Party, the Sequoyan Independence Party, and the National Accountability Party—criticized the bill, especially as it allowed the Creeperian League to retain most of its representation in the People's Assembly, as the party received most of its votes from areas that were annexed by Creeperopolis.

On 15 April 2023, the ruling coalition passed a bill called the Redistricting for the Constituencies in Eastern Sequoyah which redistricted all 35 People's Assembly constituencies in Eastern Sequoyah. The Senate approved the bill on 22 April and it was signed into law by Dustu on 23 April. The opposition criticized the bill, claiming that the districts were gerrymandered in such a way in order to benefit the ruling parties at the expense of the opposition. The ruling parties denied the opposition's claims.
