Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus (November 16, 42 BC – March 16, 37 AD) was Romanyan emperor from 14 to his death in 37 AD. Tiberius was the adopted son of emperor Augustus, however after a scandalous and disastrous marriage to his daughter Julia the Elder, he was supplanted by his adopted brother Crispus as heir. Following Augustus' death in 2 AD, Crispus became emperor and would rule for 12 years until his death in 14. Following Crispus' death, Tiberius moved quickly, with the support of the Romanyan Senate, and was proclaimed emperor. As emperor, Tiberius expanded the holdings of the Romanyan Empire and helped continue the Pax Romanya until his death in 37 AD. Following his death, he was succeeded by his grand-nephew and adopted grandson Caligula.
