Marianus I (May 25, 1731 - January 18, 1792) was the King of Ferunia and Trurnia from 1787 to his removal and death in 1792. Marianus took power in the Tuesday Revolution and led revolutionary forces in overthrowing Queen Sophia I. During his reign, Marianus helped lead Ferunia and Trurnia towards a more democratic government, forming the Ferunian and Trurnian National Diet and granting several cities distinctions as "Free Territories in Loyalty to the Diet." However Marianus become unpopular in the later years of his reign for his brutal executions of dissenters, his execution of Sophia I, and his support of secular factions in the Illyric Revolution. In 1792, forces loyal to the Claudian-Adrians led a restoration, killing Marianus, and installing Sophia II as Queen.
