The Vallepital National Prison (Salvadoran: Presó Nacional de Vallepital) is the largest prison in El Salvador. With a capacity of 5,500 prisoners, the prison's capacity is currently at around 7,600 prisoners. It is considered to be the worst prison in the country and has been compared to prisons such as Tuxtla Martínez–Panachor in Creeperopolis and the Campo di Sale in Salisford.
