History and design
Originally commissioned after a study presented to the Stratocratic Authority cited a lack of mobile firepower as a failure in the 1961 Paragon Siege wargame. The resulting weapon was plagued with issues until a copy of a Figueroa-25 was captured being smuggled into Rakeo by a Mara gang member. By copying the modernized gas piston system into the design, issues with piston failure inherent in long bursts with the R480 were resolved.
Export
A few models of the R480B have found their way out of Rakeo, likely by smugglers aligned with Mara Salvatrucha.
