The 2022 Ostlandet attacks, also known as the 2022 Ostlandet Terror Ring, are a series of attacks that occurred in the nations of Gjorka, Paleocacher, Reia and Ajakanistan on August 1, 2022. The attacks occured in a variety of forms at around the same time in the morning from 6:14 a.m. with a train derailment in Bullmar, Paleocacher, to 4:30 p.m. with a bombing at the International Tower in Toboshi, Ajakanistan. The attacks left 32 people dead, and nearly 500 more wounded. Despite the widespread nature of the attacks, the identity of the perpetrators is unknown as no groups have taken responsibility.

The attacks began in Bullmar, Paleocacher at 6:14 a.m. when hackers took control over railway controls causing a train carrying cargo and passengers to de-rail leading to multiple injuries and two deaths. Next, an unknown assailant took control over a control tower for a drawbridge in Chicajun, Paleocacher while a grain freighter passed underneath. The assailant then dropped the bridge onto the ship causing injuries and a fire to erupt on board. At the same time, at the University of Paleocacher in Cork a shooting began in the University Plaza and Laramie Park as a shooter fired from a clock tower overlooking both. The shooter killed 6 people and injured 9 more before being killed by Police. At 7:45 a.m. in Tanjō, Reia assailants entered the downton train station and threw containers full of an unknown toxic gas as a train were disembarking. The gas injured several commuters but no deaths were reported, and the assailants have not been not found. At 10:30 a.m. in Broadford, Gjorka, in the middle of a protest organized by the Khoroshiyan Civic Initiative and a counter-protest organized by the National Social Party, a car bomb exploded killing at least 20 and injuring hundreds. The car bombing was the first to occur in Gjorka since 1972. Finally, at 4:30 p.m (3:30 AST) an explosion rocked the International Tower in Toboshi, Ajakanistan during a meeting between Silayev Artemovich the Governor of Tobosk and assailants posing as IKEA representatives.

Responsibility

It is currently unknown who are the perpetrators behind the attacks despite investigations by affected governments as no groups have currently claimed responbility for the attacks and a number of assailants are still at large.

Gjorkan President Carter Morris alleged in a televised speech that the Domestic Security Service (SSB) believes the Front for the Liberation of Khoroshiya or affiliates perpetrated the bombing in Broadford. As well she announced that the Department of Justice is currently investigating the Khoroshiyan Civic Initiative and the Khoroshiyan Anti-Fascist Assembly for alleged involvement. Despite these claims, the Front for the Liberation of Khoroshiya stated they did not perpetrate the attack in a statement to the Gjorka Times.

The Toboshi City Police alleged the attack in Toboshi was perpetrated by Cherzians, specifically former members of the Cherzian Military citing the faces of the representatives allegedly being traced to members of the military and websites found online detailing plans for the attack.

The left wing conspiracy site El Faro alleged the attacks were committed by the Creeperian National Intelligence Directorate (DINA) and were connected with the 5 June attacks whom they also claimed the DINA helped perpetrate.

Affected Nations Reactions

• Ajakanistan: Ajaki Supreme Leader Vladimir Kareiv described the attack in Toboshi as "scary situation" and promised to bring the perpetrator to justice along with promising to "crush any other such attacks in its infancy".

• Gjorka: Gjorkan President Carter Morris strongly condemned the bombing in Broadford in a national address the following day comparing the attack to the many frequent attacks experienced during the Gjorkan Resistance. A 9 pm curfew was instituted in Roscommon and Cavalry Guard units from other districts were called in to set up checkpoints in Broadford searching for the perpetrator. The attack was also condemned by all major political parties in Gjorka with National Social Party leader Alexei Tabor calling for "war with Khoroshiyan Terrorists and anyone affiliated with them".

• Paleocacher: Paleocacherian President James Fulkerson denounced the attacks in Paleocacher saying they are "attacks on our very heart as a nation". In a later address he also condemned the attacks in Gjorka and Reia.

International Reactions

• Creeperopolis: Creeperian Minister of External Affairs Nicolás Correa Encarnación condemned the attacks describing them as "intolerable, barbaric, and un-human", and offered prayers to the victims and the families of the victims of the attacks.

• State of the Church: Pope Francisco I condemned the attacks, calling for justice to be swiftly brought to the perpetrators and also expressing his prayers and condolences.
