The Gjorka Peil League (Gjorkan: Sraith Peile na Gjorkan) is a professional Peil league in Gjorka. The League consists of 14 Teams divided equally between the North Division and the South Division who play a 12 Week regular season, and a 6 team single elimination tournament for the Hooster Cup. The SPG is the largest sports league in Gjorka, and highest level of Peil in the world.
The SPG was founded in 1972 following the restoration of democracy to Gjorka. Peil's sole professional league was originally the state-run Patriotic League, however the SPG emerged as a competitor to the Patriotic League. Initially, the two leagues battled for dominance, but the Patriotic League was privatized by President MacMorrow in 1978. The Patriotic League couldn't afford to pay it's player as much due to lack of Government funding, and lost out on premiere talent. It finally folded in 1982, and the SPG was left as Gjorka's sole professional peil league.
