The House of Claudius was an Illyrian royal and noble family which was the ruling house of the Kingdom of Illyricum from 1226 to 1561 as well as the ruling house of the Kingdom of Ferunia and Trurnia from 1264 to 1626. The family originated in Benezeo with Marius Claudius being named Earl of Benezeo in 914. In 1229 Livius Claudius was crowned King of Illyricum founding the Claudian dynasty. Following the Daurian War, Marcellus II of Ferunia and Trurnia died without an heir, and King Honorius II of Illyricum took the chance to place his daughter Maria II on the throne, establishing the Claudian dynasty in Ferunia and Trurnia.
