The 1997 Olèrdola airport disaster occurred on 6 April 1997 at the Olérdola International Airport in Olèrdola, Free Republic of Noundures. At 10:21 p.m. during low visibility conditions, a Salvadoran Air Force Maroto Botín FA-11 on takeoff roll collided with a Salvadoran Air Force Maroto Botín C-5 which was crossing the same runway further downfield. The crash killed 13 of the 16 occupants on board the C-5 and killed both occupants on board the FA-11. The accident was the deadliest aviation incident to occur at the Olérdola International Airport until the 2004 Olèrdola airport disaster which killed 57 people.
