Painting of Martin Luther the main leader of the Protestant Reformation.

Protestantism is a branch of Christianity that emphasizes the belief that salvation comes through belief in God and that the Bible is the sole source for Christian faith and practice. Protestantism follows the tenets of the Protestant Reformation, which began in the early 16th century in Ecros under the leadership of Martin Luther and later thinkers such as Cauvunus, and had the goal to reform the Catholic Church of its perceived faults and corruption.
