Joe Glenn Wallace (June 14, 1939 - June 1, 2017) was a Gjorkan politician who served as president of Gjorka from 2001 to 2006. Prior to his election to the presidency he served as Mayor of Nomakoa. Ben Wallace was the first president of Gjorka elected from Forward Gjorka.
Wallace grew up in Nomakoa, and attended Alicia University in Gjorka City. During the reign of the Military Dictatorship, Wallace was a member of a socialist resistance group known as the Front of the Liberated Workers. He was arrested several times during this period, and was sentenced to be executed in 1971 after burning down a government building. His execution date was December 17th 1971, however in November of 1971 the Black Revolution occurred and a democratic transition government was installed. He was let out of jail, and entered the political field. He joined various political groups, and was a major figure in protests against President Milhous which eventually led to his removal from power. Eventually he joined Forward Gjorka, and was elected Mayor of Nomakoa. He ran from president in 2001 using the the chaos of the PGI/Gjorka United Split to win a shocking victory. The Wallace Administration was the first liberal administration in Gjorka's history. However, Wallace was stuck in a tough position without a majority in the Assembly. His first three years were lackluster, but then current leader of PGI at the time, Wilson Aldrich, died in 2004. His replacement Ronn Berot switched coalition partners to Forward Gjorka allowing for them to take the majority. However, despite being able to pass some of his goals his most ambitious goals were watered down due to his status of coalition with the more centrist PGI. In spite of all of this Wallace was popular, and was leading in a majority of polls going into the 2006 Gjorkan Presidential Election. 3 months before the election, the Laura Samille Scandal occurred, in which it was revealed Wallace had been having an affair with Laura Samille since 1994. However, Samille only turned 18 in 1996 which led to the President being accused of being a child predator. This scandal tanked his campaign and he was defeated soundly in 2006 by Joseph Marnell. Following his defeat he retired in obscurity, and died in 2017
