Avigilon is a small country located in the middle of the Ecros continent of Terraconserva. It is home to roughly 36 million people, cerca 2023, with the largest ethnicity being Avigilonian, at 77%. The current Directorate of Avigilon is Eris Temblor. He has been in office since 2017, and has widespread support for his policies, character, and stance on cultural issues. Avigilon is situated in the Nezan Valley between the Arc Mountain Range, home to Rikers Peak, and Wishers Drop, a dangerous cliff, overlooking the unexplored woodlands north of Avigilon. Gabriel Stone leads the most influential religious cult in the land, the Sacred Path Society, whose beliefs and teachings have become the cornerstone of life in Avigilon. While Avilonian is the native language, the local regional language of Jackian has been adopted as a secondary language.

History

Discovering Rikers Peak

1300 A.D., Avigilon was discovered by Captain James Lazarus, as he and his scouting party were adventuring through the Ecros continent of Terraconserva. They passed through the Desheria nation, they came upon inhospitable mountains which they named the Rikers Peak after the first man to step foot on them, Joseph Riker. Riker had placed a bet while traveling through Desheria that he would race Lazarus to the mountain range which had been rumored to be hostile to outsiders. They agreed whomever reached the mountains first would have their name imprinted in history.

Founding of Estra

The first camp established in Avigilon was Estra in 1302. Estra steadily grew into a respectable town, and even created a sizable trading route with the local tribes by the mid 1400s.

The Peritans

The Peritans were a tribe that was discovered in 1406 just outside of the boundaries of Tia, a small town to the east of Estra. These people were a spiritual group, settling with the elements and beholding of a sort of force of life called "eleshiom," and the force against life, "illeshom."

Richard Castings

In 1485, on the 11th day of the 8th month, Richard Timothy Castings, was born to Hilda and Obediah Castings. Richard would go on to lead Estra in politics as its first elected official. Although government hadn't been made for the smaller towns that had been popping up around Avigilon, Richard pulled the towns together to establish a sort of monocracy.

Ike Brothers

Unlike Castings, Ike Emmanuel Brothers, sought to dissrupt the united township that had begun to increase in size. Brothers saw the future where Estra and the nearby countryside would be a powerhouse in the national and international political game. However, his approach was "No Matter the Cost." He killed the occupying seat of president, Lucrean Thompson, and took full authoritative control 1725. And his policy did cost Estra. He completely ruined the fortitude with nearby tribes, countries, and even continents. Brothers isolated Estra from the outside world. Then squeezed the townspeople for all they were worth. He killed those who opposed him, and hanged those who talked against his policy. Had it been even a hundred years later, how much more damaging Brothers could have been. Authoritative to the teeth, but not invincible, Brothers was eventually overthrown in the Draskins Rebellion of 1738.

Geography

Avigilon has a unique geography compared to the countries that it borders. The Arc Mountains create a natural border along the southern line, while the plunge from Wishers Drop to No Light Canyon creates another natural deturant alont the northern edge. Flowing from the foot of Rikers Peak, the Nezan Valley is a blossoming atmosphere full of wildlife and plant life. From here the valley fills into a natural plateau. From here, Avigilon's capital city, Astralis comes into view. Surrounded by beautiful countrysides, smaller towns speckling Avigilon's land, all leading to Astralis, this country has many natural beauties to behold.

Major Cities

Astralis

Astralis is the central hub of Avigilon, serving as the country's capital city. With a population of approximately 8 million, it is the largest city in Avigilon by area. Astralis is a bustling metropolis, characterized by its vibrant culture, diverse communities, and thriving economy. It is home to the seat of government, major financial institutions, educational centers, and cultural landmarks. Astralis serves as a central transportation hub, connecting Avigilon to both domestic and international destinations.

Draven

Draven is the most populous city in Avigilon, with a population of roughly 13 million. Known for its dynamic energy and urban development, Draven has experienced significant growth in recent years. The city is a major center for commerce, industry, and innovation. It boasts a diverse economy, encompassing manufacturing, technology, and services sectors. Draven offers a range of cultural and recreational opportunities, with its vibrant arts scene, bustling marketplaces, and modern amenities. Disk, the native Avigilonian game was created here. The Draven Snapes are the popular Disk team for Avigilon.

Caener

Caener is a city with a population of 6 million in Avigilon. Situated in the heart of agricultural regions, Caener plays a crucial role in the country's food production and distribution. The city is surrounded by fertile farmlands, where crops are cultivated and harvested. Caener serves as a hub for agricultural activities, hosting farmer's markets, food processing facilities, and research institutions. Spiphley

Spiphley is a picturesque mountain city in Avigilon, with a population of 5.5 million. Nestled amidst breathtaking natural landscapes, Spiphley attracts visitors from near and far. Noitzken is a remote and isolated city in Avigilon, with a population of 3.5 million. Located in a rugged and challenging terrain, Noitzken is known for its solitude and seclusion. Noitzken is home to a resilient and self-sufficient community, living in harmony with the surrounding wilderness. Government and Politics

System of Government

Avigilon is a democratic nation where the power resides with the people. It follows a representative democracy model, where citizens elect their representatives to make decisions on their behalf. Avigilon's government system incorporates checks and balances to prevent the concentration of power and ensure accountability. The separation of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches ensures that no single branch becomes too dominant.

Executive Branch

The executive branch of Avigilon is led by the "Directorate." The Directorate consists of a group of leaders who jointly hold executive authority. This collective leadership ensures a balanced distribution of power and prevents any single individual from having excessive control. The current Directorate is Eris Temblor. He came of power as of June 2017.

Legislative Branch

Avigilon's legislative branch is known as the "National Assembly." It is composed of representatives elected by the people. The National Assembly is responsible for creating, amending, and passing laws, as well as overseeing the functioning of the government. It reflects a blend of a parliamentary system with democratic principles.

Judicial Branch

The judicial system of Avigilon is independent and impartial. It upholds the rule of law, interprets and applies the laws of the country, and ensures justice is served. The judiciary operates under the principle of separation of powers and safeguards the rights and freedoms of the citizens.

There are several political parties at work within Avigilon. The SPS is the newest party and controls most of the power in Avigilon, while the city of Draven is under the Draskins Coalition.

Culture

The Circle Flag

The Circle Flag of Avigilon was its official flag from 1805 to 1955. The SPS were vigilant in changing the culture which they determined started with the flag. They designed several thousands of flags, protested the current circle flag, and influenced lawmakers to unianimoously vote for a change.

The Branch Flag

Still wanting to portray a circle, which the founding fathers made to stand for "one common goal all Avigilonians should aim for," the Branch flag continues to contain a circle, but the branches within lay more to the picture than previously shown. The branches show the wonders of the people from Avigilon venturing out from where they came from and impacting the world. The branches also remind of another faction of people from within Avigilon, the Sacred Path Society, whose growth from within, has converted more and more civilians into the SPS. Gabriel Stone, along with other prominant members, did help design or influence the design of the new flag.

The Flower Flag

After Eris Temblor was elected, Gabriel Stone taught uncoincidentally on the future of Avigilon. As he riled up the members of the society with his directed speech about consistency and change, many took up the mantle to change and proposed a flag that can "unite us as we grow towards a better future."
