The Vanderburg family is a Gjorkan political family prominent in the political, entertainment and business spheres. In 1883, Charles Vanderburg became the first Vanderburg to achieve political office with Charles being elected Mayor of the family's home town of Shanahoe. Since then the Vanderburg family has had two presidents, one Vice President, and held a litany of other political offices. As well, the family maintains important roles in other fields with Andrew Vanderburg, son of Colm Vanderburg, being the current head coach of the Inner Kingdom Bandits of the SPG and Elizabeth Vanderburg having been considered one of the greatest Gjorkan writers of the 20th century authoring works such as One Rainy Day and The Concept Of Hope.
