Sebastian I Navarro (born 27 February 1917), also known as Sebastian the Great, was the King of Tyrandor and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Tyranian Armed Forces from 18 January 1965 until 13 December 1989, just before his death. In Tyrandor, he is regarded as one of the country's greatest monarchs for his role in the coup that ended the Week of the Bonfires and the reign of his predecessor, Ardhan I Regnatus, and his subsequent leadership efforts in stabilizing the nation.
Carlos was born in 1917 to Michel Navarro and Alexandria Kortea, the eldest of three children (Sebastian, Charles, and Arianna). Interested in a military career from a young age, he enlisted in the 1st Army of Tyran in 1935 immediately following the Federalization of Tyrandor under King Marcos II, a career that would see him enroll in the Officer Corps and climb to the rank of lieutenant general by 1962.
In January 1965, he witnessed the violence of the Week of the Bonfires first-hand as was orchestrated by King Ardhan, something he, like many of his military colleagues, took a grave exception to. Sebastian personally organized and led the 1st Army Corps from the 1st Army of Tyran, marching directly on Tyran and storming the royal citadel, overthrowing the king in a coup d'etat. Upon deposing the king, he personally commanded the execution of Ardhan via firing squad, and was crowned king on 18 January with the support of his officers and other officials in the Royal Court.
