In 2021, Nuclear Power generated 10.1% of Gjorka's consumed electricity. As of September 2022, Gjorka has 7 operational nuclear power reactors in the country at 4 plants across the country. Gjorka has access to Nuclear Power since 1978, when the first reactor became operational at the Ballykeeran Nuclear Power Plant located near Keswick, Dundalk. Since then, 8 more reactors have been constructed with the original reactor at Ballykeeran having been decommissioned in 1991, and a second reactor built in 1982 at Saggart Nuclear Power Plant having been decommissioned in 2001.
