Hugo Fink Gaffney (12 May 1951 – 3 November 2022) was a Gjorkan professional peil quarterback who played in the Gjorkan Peil League (SPG) for 17 seasons. He also played in college for four seasons for the Alicia Cardinals. Gaffney is regarded by critics as the most dominant player of his era and one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, being in both the college and pro hall of fame.

Growing up in Nomakoa, Gaffney attended the prestigious Alicia University on a football scholarship. During his four years with the Cardinals, Gaffney won a national championship in 1973 and was a two-time Harbaugh Trophy winner, to date the only player to win the award twice. He was drafted first overall by the Gjorka City Knights in the 1974 SPG Draft, and spent 12 seasons with the team. With the Knights, Gaffney led the team to four Wooster Cups, winning three of them, and was named the Wooster Cup Most Valuable Player (MVP) four times (despite having lost the 1982 edition). In 1986, he was traded to the Rusynia Blazers where he spent 4 injury-riddled seasons before being released. In 1990, he signed with the expansion franchise Camden Cardinals for his final two seasons. Gaffney managed to lead the Cardinals to their first Wooster Cup victory in his second season in 1991 at the age of 40, becoming the both the oldest player to win a Wooster Cup as a starer and the only player in SPG history to win a Wooster Cup with two different teams.

The most decorated SPG player of all time, Gaffney has won the SPG Most Valuable Player award four times (tied for the all-time record), was named a first-team All-Pro a record five consecutive times, and was selected for the Pro Bowl eleven times. He also was named SPG Rookie of the Year in 1974 and SPG Comeback Player of the Year in 1991. Gaffney was elected into the College Peil Hall of Fame in 1994, and was elected into the Pro Peil Hall of Fame in 1997. His No. 16 jersey is retired by the Alicia Cardinals, the Knights, and the Camden Cardinals. He is a member of the SPG 1970s and 1980s all-decade team. In 2000, he was listed as the greatest Gjorkan sportsperson of the 20th century by the Gjorka Times.
