Etymology
The name of Jackson originated in 667 A.D. preceding the dissolution of the Romanyan Empire. At this time, Jackson was referred to as Yeronia. The name Jackson (Janusolm) originated from the Romanyan words for entrance "janua" and land "solum" and was used as an unofficial name of the colony. After the collapse of Romanya, Janusolm was made the official name of the new independent kingdom, with its capital being Janusolm Civita (city). As the language of Jackson naturally became more distant from ancient Romanyan, "Janusolm" shifted into the word "Jackson" and "Janusolm Civita" combined into "Jacksonville". When the Citystate of Jacksonville was officially established, the city of Jacksonville was renamed into Jacksonville City to distinguish it from the nation, and Jackson was still used as the unofficial nation name until the establishment of the Jackson Empire.
