Sometime before March 26, Dobrobyt resigned and left the region following harassment from both Colorado-Kansas and Gagium (Who noted his past with Gagium on the online game ROBLOX). On March 24, the Second Constitution of the Federation of Conservative Nations was enacted after being ratified. This new constitution, largely written by Gagium, Washingtonian Republic, and other FCN government members, included various changes and fixed several grammatical errors in the First Constitution. One major change was that all elections except for the elections for President and Senate Speaker were removed. Previously elected positions (For example, WA Delegate) were now appointed. A special election for the position of World Assembly Delegate was held on March 26, in which Washingtonian Republic (NP) beat Lermant (L&O) and Kaasicountry (CP).<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.nationstates.net/page=poll/p=115974|title=March 2018 WAD Special Election|date=March 26, 2018}}</ref>  12 out of 12 people polled rated Washingtonian's performance as WA Delegate as "Alright".<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.nationstates.net/page=poll/p=116829|title=Delegate Approval Rating (Constructive Criticism)|date=April 6, 2018}}</ref>

The Federation of Conservative Nations was an enormous region founded on September 9, 2017, following the de-facto destruction of the Confederacy of Conservative Nations. Shortly after the founding of the Federation of Conservative Nations, a short-lived breakaway region known as the Confederacy of Conservative Countries was formed. The first President of the Federation of Conservative Nations was Colorado-Kansas, who is currently serving as the Director of Foreign Affairs of the League of Conservative Nations. The first months of the Federation were marked by a period of relative stability, despite allegations of racism and homophobia that would come to light in 2018. In March 2018, a second constitution of the FCN that was written to largely fix grammar mistakes and unclear articles in the first constitution was proposed and ratified.[citation needed] This constitution would exist until the dissolution of the Federation.

Gagium, who took office as President in April 2018 after beating Washingtonian Republic, would introduce a regional currency soon after. During the Summer of 2018, the Iron & Blood roleplay took place, which was popular among many FCNers. In early July before the elections, Crimsonfield joined the region. Crimsonfield would become prominent in FCN history for the attempted regional coup which involved getting a friend to DDoS Gagium and forming a voting bloc in the FCN Senate to manipulate the region. After the DDoSing attempt came to light, Crimsonfield and his associates formed the Union of Conservative States, which would be destroyed by the FCN in the 2018 UCS Coup D'état's.

Before this, however, Crimsonfield attempted to liberate the FCN using the World Assembly Security Council - this liberation failed. In early 2019, a FCN minecraft server hosted by Doge Republics was created.[citation needed] In February, another region created by Crimsonfield with the intent of destroying the FCN was destroyed. A group chat created as a result of this region would lead to the creation of the Gentleman's Coalition, a regional alliance between the FCN, LCN, and the Redlands. During Vens Verbum's term as President, several incidents occurred between the FCN and LCN. This led to an incident June 16 in which Gagium and Viridus were banned from the LCN for spam. Following this, Gagium attempted to pass a bill in the FCN Senate to close embassies between the two regions. The bill passed, but it was vetoed. An executive order by New Gandor (who was serving as President at the time) on July 4 resulted in all LCNers being banned from the FCN and embassies closing. As a result, several prominent FCNers soon left the Federation for the League.

On July 21, the 2019 Federation of Conservative Nations Olympics started, which was hosted by Furby Island. During the Olympics, activity skyrocketed and attention was somewhat turned away from other issues. On August 7, the Olympics concluded. Following the Olympics, a temporary increase in interest of regional sports occurred. The Federation 2020 roleplay, created by Gagium and Furby (With Furby creating most of the maps used for the roleplay), started on November 26 and would continue until the dissolution of the FCN.

On October 13, Furbish Islands narrowly defeated Gagium in the October Presidential Elections. During Furby's presidency, the FCN Times was revived thanks to TheGoldCoast being appointed as Head Journalist. On December 17, 2019, the Federation of Conservative Nations discord server was mysteriously raided and nearly everyone was banned from the server. It was confirmed that Doge Republics was behind the raid. A new discord server was created after the raid. Near the end of Furby's presidency in early January 2020, an effort to impeach him was pushed by Holy Rhinish Islands. The impeachment, which was put to vote on January 3, alleged that Furby took place in bribery and illegally banning individuals. Though the impeachment vote concluded at 12 ayes and 6 nays, then-Senate Speaker Ulrech ruled that the impeachment vote technically failed.

The January 2020 elections would prove to be one of the most controversial elections, if not the most controversial election, in Federation history. New Inglaterra narrowly beat San Carlos for Senate Speaker. Out of five candidates, the Presidential race became an effectively two-person race as Ulrech and Holy Rhinish Islands both rose above the other three candidates. After the election, a group chat was made to oppose Rhinish, New Inglaterra, and the National Populist Party.[citation needed]. 64 votes (including illegal votes) were cast during the Presidential election. Tensions between FCNers rose during the Rhinish Presidency. After the election, President Rhinish made a statement in which he revealed that the LCN had been spying on the FCN. On February 7, New Inglaterra resigned and left the region. Rhinish also resigned the same day. Greater Bastion, as his Vice President, took the role of President. Greater Bastion called a snap election for the role of President to take place on March 14 after allegations that he was incompetent for the role of President. This was largely fueled by his appointment of Aglonia as Secretary of Internal Affairs, who was known for his political stances. Gagium won the election and assumed the role of President until the April elections.

Fluvannia was elected in the April 2020 Presidential elections on April 13, beating Viridus by a somewhat large margin. This would be the last Presidential election in FCN history. Following a confrontation between Gagium and Dragons of Power in which Gagium repeatedly threatened to engage in sexual intercourse with Dragon's girlfriend[citation needed], Gagium resigned from his post as Fluvannia's Secretary of Internal Affairs. The argument led a group of individuals under the leadership of President Fluvannia to plan a new region which was designed to attract members of the FCN in which they favorably viewed while leaving out those they unfavorably viewed, including prominent FCNers and government officers like Gagium, Furby, and West Phoenicia. After Gagium left the region, the FCN was dissolved by the Senate on May 1. Most remaining members left for the region's legal successor, the Republic of Conservative Nations.

The region was known for being one of the largest right-wing regions on NationStates. Additionally, several current members of the League of Conservative Nations spent much of their time on NationStates in the Federation of Conservative Nations before joining the League.

History

Background

The predecessor to the Federation, the Confederacy of Conservative Nations, was formed on June 1 by Topeka, a member of the Confederation of Conservative Nations. The FCN's first constitution and government system is derived from that of the Confederacy of Conservative Nations. Before the destruction of the Confederacy, a nation known as The United States of Qui-Gon was President of the CCN. He would become the first President of the FCN until his resignation and departure from the site.

The second N-Day, a major NationStates event in which nations of the world participated in a simulated nuclear war, occurred on August 29, before the formation of the FCN. The members of the Confederacy of Conservative Nations participated in the event as part of the Army of Freedom faction[1], and despite this occurring before the formation of the FCN, many people consider it to be a part of Federation regional history. Many members, including Colorado-Kansas and Republic of Christiandom, joined the CCN as a result of their participation in the Army of Freedom and N-day. The Army of Freedom was led by New Waldensia, with help from Gagium.

2017-Early 2018

Following an incident in which the founder of the Confederacy of Conservative Nations, Topeka, banjected nearly all nations in the region, Gagium founded the Federation of Conservative Nations as a successor to the CCN on September 9. Within 3 days of the region's founding, over 40 nations had moved to the fledgling Federation. An early incident which divided members of the Federation occurred after two members of the CCN, Pablocracy and a user known as Guy Hanes[citation needed], formed their own region, the Confederacy of Conservative Countries. This happened due to a judicial system in which they wielded large amounts of power was repealed. On September 17, some users led by Gagium raided the region, causing outrage from the CCC and a condemnation from then-acting President Viridus.[2] A nation known as Lotkia was banned from the CCC shortly after for being a "FCN spy".

After the issue was sorted out with the help of Viridus, the CCC eventually grew inactive and died. Beginning on September 3 (Before the FCN's founding), Gagium held a crusades-themed roleplay on a custom map divided into 33 territories.[3] The roleplay took place on the NationStates forums and was concluded by September 29.[4]

Under the first Constitution of the Federation of Conservative Nations, there were elections for the following positions: President, Secretary of Interior & Defense, WA Delegate, and Senate Speaker. Because of the smaller size of the region at the time, Trenado got elected as WA Delegate and without being contested. New Waldensia was elected as Secretary of Interior & Defense after winning against Colorado-Kansas, who soon decided to run a Presidential campaign. Shocking many people in the region, Colorado-Kansas was declared the victor of the Presidential Election after beating Viridus and tying with Dobrobyt.[5] He won a coin toss held by Gagium against Dobrobyt.[citation needed] Colorado-Kansas' campaign was based on fighting the "deep state" and bringing change to the region.

During Colorado-Kansas' presidency, he ran a series of polls in which users were asked to vote in United States presidential elections through history.[6] Sometime during his Presidency, the position of Secretary of Interior & Defense was split into the positions of Secretary of Interior Affairs and Secretary of War. Gagium became the Secretary of Interior Affairs while New Waldensia opted to become the Secretary of War. The Voting Through the Ages polls continued after Colorado-Kansas (L&O) was elected as Senate Speaker on January 19, beating Fillsurnac (CP) in the January 2018 elections.[7] During the Presidential Election, which took place on January 20 and 21, Libervalley CP, with Krankriet as his Vice President) won against Viridus (NP) and Republic of Christiandom (IND). Dobrobyt (CP) narrowly beat Washingtonian Republic (NP) in the WA delegate election.[8] Fillsurnac was accused of using puppets and committing voter fraud during the Senate Speaker election. Trenado ran for Secretary of War uncontested and won the position, along with Gagium as Secretary of Internal Affairs.

On January 28, Colorado-Kansas formed the Liberty and Order Party alongside Trenado and Lermant. Gagium held the First FCN Awards on February 7, with medals drawn by Furbish Islands. Rhineland Sued won the Honorary Hall of Fame award.[9] A confrontation between Freezic Vast and Gagium, Colorado-Kansas, and Republic of Christiandom occurred on the FCN'S Regional Message Board on March 6, 2018. This happened as a result of Freezic Vast personally denouncing Gagium after Freezic moved to the newly-revived Confederation of Conservative Nations.[10] During the confrontation, Freezic accused Gagium and Colorado-Kansas of being racist, anti-semitic, ethno-nationalists. His posts were later suppressed along with RoC's posts mocking his by NationStates moderators. The argument resulted in the FCN's regional message board being shut down by moderators for a period of 15 minutes, the only time this happened in regional history.[11] After the confrontation, tensions between the FCN and the Confederation of Conservative Nations would remain high, until the latter eventually died out.

Sometime before March 26, Dobrobyt resigned and left the region following harassment from both Colorado-Kansas and Gagium (Who noted his past with Gagium on the online game ROBLOX). @everyone @Citizen @Resident

I first joined the Federation of Conservative Nations on February 23, 2018. In my time here I've made good friends with Gagium, Viridus, New Waldensia, Monkaslavia, Doge Republics, upon many more. I've also helped contribute to this great region taking the offices of Senator, Senate Pro-Tempore, Head Journalist, Secretary of Internal Affairs, 6th President, Associate Justice, as well as helping with the Anti-Anime Association as the AAA Chief and Homeland Security.

The FCN has been going down hill for the past month, especially with the alienation of the LCN. The actions of the Founder, @Gagium#9629, have been unacceptable and he refuses to face any consequences for his actions to the point of warning and banning LCNers for no reason at all. Sorry, but "R4" is not a reason as they did not break rule 4.

I've decided to part ways with the FCN. I hope I can continue to remain as a dual citizen of the FCN and continue to spend time in the home I've grown to love for the past year and a half. I also wish to see the FCN be restored to greatness in the upcoming July 2019 elections.

Gagium

Hey guys. I’m not really sure to start, but this has been in my mind for awhile and I feeling certain events in recent days has unfortunately led us to where we are now. First off, I want to say that I still think the FCN is a good place. There’s a lot of good people here, and I’ll never forget the community here or everything that we’ve done together or been through. The #roadto1000, the FCN Olympics, the L&O stuff, LCN stuff, Crimsonfield stuff, FCN Minecraft servers, those music VCs. I’ve learned a lot from this region, and hopefully still have more to learn. I’ve helped build this region and spent hours upon hours daily participating in the discord and the region, and I hope that it hasn’t gone to waste - I’ll always remember everything fondly. We’ve been through so much together, and my experience here has quite frankly been amazing.

I could go on talking about all the adventures I’ve had in the FCN and all the fun I’ve had and all the friends I’ve made here - I mean, really, two and a half years of seeing a region grow from like 40 people to several hundred was..I don’t know how to describe it. There’s a lot of emotions that come to mind when thinking of it and everything we’ve been through, good and bad. A lot of us, especially people originally from the CCN, have seen this all and participated in the region’s history and growth as I have, and a lot of them are still around. And I believe a lot of them still can do good things for the FCN and help the region - I mean, I still hope I can.

Now, I want to stop reminiscing about our past that a lot of you haven’t been around and talk about the present. It’s first off a shame that the LCN drama is still going on, and it’s a shame that the region decided to ban San Carlos Islands, someone who’s been around for literally nearly as long as I have (SCI/CK has been around since basically our founding in 2017, after he joined the region through N-day) for joining the LCN because he liked their community. Since he’s joined the LCN, people have called him a racist, toxic, bad person and a traitor. This never really happened before he joined their server, by the way, so I assuming these opinions were new - After all, most people who claimed SCI was a racist toxic person voted for his approval as my Secretary of War.

Anyways, it was absolutely repulsive to see the community essentially turn on someone who’s literally been with our region for years and has dedicated himself numerous times to helping the region. To just see someone who’s done a lot for the community be disregarded and branded as a traitor for joining another region - And no, SCI didn’t have any bad intentions. He was still in the region’s discord and wanted to hang around and still be a part of our community. That is, until the same person people overwhelmingly approved as SecWar was banned. Should he have legally been banned? Probably, unfortunately. And yeah, people have pointed out the irony in that I now oppose the very laws and EOs I advocated for back in 2019 against the LCN, but so much has changed since then. The intention was to do us both a favor by separating us which I and others thought would be good, but unfortunately they have only caused more issues and drama. And they were caused by a lot of stuff that I said about the LCN and they’ve said about us and so forth. But, anyways, it’s 2020 now, and here we have someone who’s been in the community for basically our entire existence being literally banned for joining another community.

And there’s a lot of other people in our region who have been in the LCN discord server and have only been shown kindness really despite what happened in 2019. I myself joined along with Furbish Islands to check the community out and protest the banning of SCI. Did I know it was bannable? Absolutely, but I did it anyways to see what the LCN was really like these days...and, perhaps surprisingly, even though I felt like the LCN would absolutely loathe me like some of us did the LCN for past events I’ve been welcomed and everyone is chill. After staying in the LCN discord for what’s been over a week now, I’ve come to realize that they’re really not the people that a lot of us, myself included, have said they are.

Now, now. Did they do things they shouldn’t have? Yeah, absolutely. Did we? Mhm. Is either region solely responsible for the 2019 drama and stuff? I argued that wasn’t the case back then, and I’ll do it now. However, both region’s laws on the other contrast significantly. The LCN has been fine with FCNers coming to chill and hang out in their server and region for awhile now, even despite everything that’s happened, while the FCN’s policy has caused the banning of several veterans and regionmates - Recently SCI, but back in the day Creeperopolis, later New Gandor, and others. Our policy is to ban people, regardless of how many hours they’ve put into this region, for joining another region.

And, quite frankly, that’s one of the reasons why I’m here right now writing this. The other large one in relation to this is how some people have defended this and want to ban others and myself for just hanging out in the LCN discord. Since I’ve joined their server (Which, yeah, I know, banjectable offense) people who I thought I could trust and who I have supported have advocated for our banning, removal, shunning from the region, and we’ve been portrayed as people the region can’t trust and shouldn’t trust - specifically me and Furbish Islands, even though I have no doubts that both of us have spent what amounts to hundreds of hours doing stuff for the region. Because I joined a discord server, I’ve had COT call me pathetic, I’ve had Viridus advocate for my ban, I’ve had our delegate say that I should be banned, and a whole plethora of others have just been so negative because I’ve been chilling with the LCN.

Now, like, yeah, I get that it’s bannable, but what irks me is that some of absolutely are against any sort of redemption or whitelisting of me or others, despite how much time we’ve put into this region and everything we’ve done, and some of you are still perfectly fine with just purging the region of anyone affiliated with the LCN, which has recently included myself...It’s disgusting. You all would rather to throw away everything we’ve done and stand for and ban us for affiliating with yet another region on this site, mind you under an executive order that was created by someone who soon after writing it left the region in shame of having even put forth such a thing (Sorry, New Gandor, I totally get you though).

I could now write about how I feel here - I mean, for one, a bit betrayed - but I think I got the point across. I hope, anyways. Now, I don’t want you all to get the wrong idea, and we all know where this is going. From my time in the LCN server, I’ve seen that they’ve built an actually really nice community with a nice roleplay and nice people who were again surprisingly welcoming and willing to forgive and forget over previously drama. And now, in contrast, yeah, I’ll always love the FCN as my home region, and it’s still a good place, absolutely, but I’ve seen the region especially recently become riddled by government inactivity, absolute toxicity and hatred towards members for some of their actions and beliefs, and the region just isn’t what it used to be. And I think it’s time for something new. We can’t all stay here or anywhere forever, and while I’m still on this site I want to see what other places have to offer, and the LCN has shown to be an amazing community like our region’s (except totally different), even if, unfortunately or fortunately, they’re the only region we ban (by name) people from being in.

So I think I’ve decided, after a lot of thought, like, a lot of thought, that it’s time that I went my way with this nation and explored what other regions have to offer. This was bound to happen, but when half the government here is calling for my ban, I knew it was time to go...I’ve failed as a founder, if I’m going to be honest, when people I’ve trusted and in high government positions are calling for my ban and removal, when people would rather I be banned then added to the LCN whitelist we have (with nobody on it if I may add). I’ve failed, and that’s something I’m sorry for. To all of you.

But it’s time to move on. Kind of...not really. Look, I love you guys, and I love this region. Even though I may be moving this nation, I want to still be friends with you all and stay in the region with a puppet and still take part in the community, because I love the FCN (and, let’s be honest, have spent too many hours here to just leave), even if half the government would love to see me banned. Unfortunately for you, I don’t plan on getting entirely out until/if you do ban me, because I love this place.

And I don’t want you all to feel betrayed. It really shouldn’t be - you really shouldn’t feel betrayed because I joined another community with my nation after scrapegoating me, advocating for my banjection and complete removal, lying about my actions and intentions and basically who I am and what I stand for..but I understand if you do. And I’m sorry for failing.

So, hopefully this isn’t it. I’ll move a puppet in ASAP, and I hope to be a part of this community as long as you allow me to..I’m going to get off soon, and I hope you all can come to terms with this and respect my decision and reasoning. And with that said, goodbye, on this account anyways.

Attention all FCN residents

All of this is just childish and way out of line for a game. I've spent nights awake stressing this game and all for what. When a big change comes that I hoped would to try and solve fighting on the outside, all that happens is fighting on the inside. I'm not going to stress about a game any more. I'm leaving nationstates. I hereby resign as President of the FCN and will be leaving effective immediately. I understand what I did was controversial but it was my intention to make both regions better. I was horribly wrong. The LCN will prosper and the FCN under Gagiums thumb will crumble.

Good luck to you all

I apologize that this may be a disappointment, but I've decided to resign as Secretary of War move to the LCN to participate in their rp and be on closer terms with that community. This decision was made without malice towards anyone here or towards the government.

However, I want to try to continue being a bridge between the two communities. So I'd like encourage for the laws prohibiting contact to be repealed as to bring everyone together again. I ultimately I want to stay apart of this community while I move to the LCN to get to know them better and I hope people can understand and respect this opinion.
