The company was founded in 1975 by President Samuel MacMorrow to replace Gjorka's previous flag carrier Gjorka Airways who dissolved following the Black Revolution. It was owned by the Gjorkan government until 1993 when it was privatized by President Wilson Aldrich, however the Gjorkan Government still owns 10% of the company.
