Valter Semedo Silva (born August 5, 2001), nicknamed "Silverman" or simply "Silver", is a Montcrabin professional basketball player for the 1890 Khotshir of the Crab League (CL). A point guard, he played basketball at a college level for the University of Costea Devils and was selected in the first round with the seventh overall pick by the Khotshir in the 2019 CBL draft. Silva was voted CBL Rookie of the Year in 2020, and has since been named an All-Star for the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons.
Silva started his playing career at an amateur high school level for the Artale Royal High School in Montcrabe City, winning a provincial and eventually national championship with his school. Highly rated for his record-breaking performances at ARHS by major recruiting services, he became a priority draft prospect for the University of Costea Devils, who secured his scholarship through the Principati's Talents Project in the 2018 collegial draft. Setting the record for most assists averaged in the Montcrabin College Championship in a single season (10.2), he led the Costea Devils to their third national championship as the season MVP, and won the annual Principati's Sporting Prospect Award. Silva was selected by the 1890 Khotshir as seventh overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Early and personal life
Silva was born on 26 November 2000 in Montcrabe City, Montcrabe, to Antoine Silva and Natalia Semedo, who were both semi-professional football players. For much of his childhood, Silva played football at an amateur level as a midfielder, trained by his own father. When he was seven years old, he developed a stronger interest in basketball because he "found it easier to shine". Playing opponents much older than him, his performances caught the interest of sporting scouts as part of the Principati's Talents Project, who offered him a scholarship and living costs at the Artale Royal High School to develop his talents. Before high school, Silva enrolled in the independent youth team, 20-Pincers, leading them to an unbeaten season in the U17 category at 15 years old as the league MVP and assist leader.
