The Crab League (named the AlamaStar Crab League for sponsorship purposes), formerly named the Ariunxavč Basketball Association, is a professional basketball league in Uulgadzar and Byasa composed of 20 teams (14 in Uulgadzar and 6 in Byasa). It is the oldest extant basketball league, and is considered the premier basketball league in the world.
The league was founded in Khotshir, Uulgadzar on 22 June 1873 when several Ariunxavč groups in the area wanted to establish a friendly competition to strengthen ties after the 1869 Ariunxavč schism. It was bought by the Association of Ariunxavč Gatherings in 1901, who made it a professional league in 1934. Teams stayed tied to Ariunxavč groups until 1967 when the Khotshir scandal caused the dissolution of the Association of Ariunxavč Gatherings and the independence of the Ariunxavč Basketball Association. In 1970, the name of the league was changed from the Ariunxavč Basketball Association to the Crab League when the league was seized by the government.
The Crab League is an active member of the Uulgadzan Basketball Association, which is recognized by the OUSBH (International Basketball Federation) as the national governing body for basketball in Uulgadzar.
