Soldier's Daily (Rakeoian Spanish: Noticias Diarias para La Soldado – lit. Daily news for the Solider) is a state-run newspaper in Rakeo which has operated 1950–Present. The paper is generally considered an unreliable source by academics and political analysts because of its biased reporting, its political employment requirements, compliance with national news blackouts, and extensive plagiarism of other news sources both domestically and internationally. The paper is officially aligned with the Rakeoian Unitarianism movement, and does not report on issues of Rakeo's foreign affairs directly.
Plagiarism
Soldier's Daily is known for plagiarizing sections of foreign and domestic reporting, frequently using uncredited sections of El Faro as a source to cast doubt on official statements made by the Cabinet of Creeperopolis and other Creeperian media sources' reporting such as Gaceta Creeperiano. The newspaper is also known for uncited usage of Gaceta Creeperiano articles, some of which have been used months or years after the articles were first published.
Anti-Creeperian sentiment
The paper has been accused of spreading Anti-Creeperian sentiment through its reporting. Prior to the 1972 recognition of the militant nativist Rakeoian Soverignty Front as a terrorist organization, the paper had articles with block quotations from RSF members endorsing violence against Creeperan-owned businesses. The term Creeperianization has been used by the paper to describe civil unrest and instances of corruption within Rakeo.
